When Your Teen Is in Crisis: How to Stay Grounded When They Aren’t
It seems like it came out of nowhere, the dreaded statements no parent wants to hear: “I don’t want to be here anymore,” “Everyone would be better off without me,” or “I want to die,” The floor will feel like it dropped out beneath you. It's normal if your brain immediately goes into crisis mode too. What do I do? Is this serious? Do I call someone? Do I take them to the hospital? What if I say the wrong thing? How did I not know they were feeling this way? Fear is expected.
